Written by Rev. Drew Dyson. Presented to the congregation by Joyce Beck, March 8, 2015.
It is my joy to share with you today that Bishop John R. Schol has appointed rev. Kyle Cuperwich as the new pastor of our congregation effective July 1, 2015. As a United Methodist church we are part of an appointment system. Our congregation's Staff Parish Relations committee has met with our district superintendent, Rev. Drew Dyson, to identify our congregation's needs and the gifts needed in our pastor. We have also met with Pastor Cuperwich to better get to know him and to ask questions.
Rev. Cuperwich is a Provisional Elder currently serving Bernardsville and Gladstone UMCs. Kyle is from central NJ and heard God's call to ministry while attending Ramapo College studying music. Kyle graduated Asbury Theological Seminary and has served on staff at Aldersgate in East Brunswick, as a leader of youth ministries in teh Raritan Valley district, and currently serves on the Conferenc eBorad of Discipleship. Kyle is also active in teh Order of Saint Luke NJ chapter. He is a gifted pastor, passionate about community ministry and mission, and experienced in ministry with children, outh, and young families. Kyle will be getting married this May to his fiancee Carolyn, the music director of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Raritan, NJ.
As has Rev. Elliott, Rev Cuperwich will work with us and the conference so that we continue to make disciples of Jesu Christ for the transformation of the world. Bishop Schol, Rev. Dyson, and the leaders of the Greater NJ Annual Conference will work with us to continue to grow as a vital congregation. I know you will oin the bishop, our district superintendent, our new pastor and me in helping to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Thank you!
