July 12-18, 2015, Tri-Cities, Tennessee
This summer BIG Youth Group, or BYG, (participating churches Community Presbyterian Church of Chester, First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flemington, First Presbyterian Church of Fairmount, Lower Valley Presbyterian Church and United Methodist Church of Califon) will once again be traveling to the hills of Appalachia to make homes warmer, safer and drier for families we have not yet met.
Teens and adults from Califon UMC will be participating.
Appalachia Service Project, Inc. (ASP) is a Christian volunteer organization operating in central Appalachia, specifically in the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The organization is concerned with home repair for low-income families, as well as a limited amount of free home construction. Its primary goal is making homes "warmer, safer, and drier".
Every year Califon UMC sends a small group of adults, teens, and college students to experience the rewards of Christian service.
